Description
Chris Jurd is an Australian artist living near Sydney. She has been doing patchwork for about thirty years and teaches it at home as well as in many shops or at symposiums. Chris is also very active in the New South Wales Quilting Guild (NSWQG) .
A prolific artist, she creates many patterns each year, sold on her Etsy shop . She is passionate about original prints in vibrant colors that she uses brilliantly in her pieced and very geometric quilts with a bold design. She also uses the English piece technique (EPP) which she describes in the technical part of the book.
His signature is the frequent use of black to emphasize certain design elements and give relief to his quilts. This technique evokes a little the technique of stained glass revisited with modernity and a lot of originality. The book includes a small technical part in which Chris explains his tips and tricks. 14 quilts are fully explained and accompanied by their real size templates. Contemporary-traditional bursting with colors that will appeal to quilters of all sensibilities!
On his Instagram account ( @patchworkfun ) you can discover many of his works.
